The current standard for our profile and square sticking is a total of 1/2″ tongue depth.
We use a compressible spacer between the panel and the slab frame. We count this as 3/16″ when the door slab is assembled.
This gives us 5/16″ of panel tongue behind the edge of the sticking.
On the panel profile sheet – See Attachment – the two standard reveals listed are 1/2″ and 7/8″.
The physical tooling will machine a 7/16″ reveal and an 11/16″ reveal.
We have the bearing combinations to machine the following reveals on a shaper : 1/4″, 3/8″, 7/16″, 9/16″, 11/16″, 13/16″, 15/16″, and 1-1/16″.
The reveal needs to be stated on the proposal and the confirmation. If it is not stated the 1/2″ or 7/16″ reveal will be used.
Each time a cut list is created for the shop to use, the reveal is manually added to the wording on the cut list.
