Cut Listing Glass Ordering

Confirm drawing of unit is correct.

Use Simple Check List to determine if changes need to be made to the glass size generated by EZ-WinDoor.

Check square footage of insulated glass and compare to vendor list to determine if greater than allowed square footage for the glass thickness on the work order.

Check type of glass – some glass types (ex: seedy, water, granite, hammer, reeded, etc.) have smaller width and height availability.  Please check stock size with the vendor.

All custom shaped glass requires a correct drawing of the glass shape with measurements of angles, arcs, and straight portions clearly labeled on the drawing.

Some shapes may require a full size pattern of the glass shape either printed on paper or cut by the CNC from a sheet of thin plywood.  Glass shapes with more than a 100” radius do require a full size pattern.  The vendor will determine when this is necessary.

Use the EZWD print report “New Reports” Glass Report (New).

Separate the glass list to its own page in the Moulding and HardwareList. (If using the “Old” Complete Cutlist in EZWD).

Change the date on the glass list to one business week from day the order is placed with the vendor.

Save a PDF for the glass list to the job reference folder.

Save a PDF of the CAD drawing (if one was needed) to the job reference folder.

Compose an e-mail to the glass vendor requesting a glass order to be placed.

The e-mail needs to include Good’s Millwork name, the purchase order number (use the work order number) and a description of the glass matching the work order. (A glass ordering form can be found at Workgroup(S-Dell-03)(W)\Standard Operating Procedures\Cut Listing-Programming\Glass Order Form)

Attach the PDF of the glass list to the e-mail.  If needed attach the PDF of the glass drawing to the e-mail.

If needed, work with purchasing to determine the best full size glass pattern to send the glass vendor. (Our preferred vendor for the poster print of the glass pattern is B-W Graphics in Versailles Mo.  Please note the widest print size is 50”.)
