Generate Shop Drawings

  • Copy Customer APPROVAL Drawings to create SHOP drawings
    • Change file name to Order#
    • Delete all drawings that do not directly apply to order
    • Create any new drawings needed
      • Inspect Customer Sign-off Page for Changes
      • Verify correct gap for T-Astragals, (7/8” for Ext. Doors, 3/4’’ for Int.)
      • Bi-fold & Bi-pass Units, Must Be 2’’ Shorter, Pocket Doors Do NOT!
      • Check for Bore / Applied Moulding Clearance, 4 1/4” min. stile surface
      • Check design compatibility with specified glass sizes
    • Change drawing name on all papers to Order#
    • Check Work Order for Door Handing
    • Dimension for Door Dept.
      • Overall widths of stiles & rails
      • Center of all center rails
      • Center of all TDL’s
      • Length of all TDL’s
      • All Leg angles

Door Department Cutlist

  • Create Cutlist
    • Entry Door Cutlist Spreadsheet
      • Wood Species, specify Interior or Exterior
      • Double-check door thickness
      • Check for correct ‘Exterior’ specifications
      • Double-check all custom parts with Turbo CAD
      • Match Customer specified glass size to door
      • Add TDL’s to cutlist, 3/16’’ thicker than finished door thickness.
      • Double-check panel layers on Exterior doors
      • Specify if Engineered {as material}
      • Check for horizontal grain panels and change width/height in cutlist
      • Check panel thickness
        • Check panel thickness on 2 ¼” doors
      • Save spreadsheet as; Customer Name, Order # (ex. Mora Lumber, 14863)
      • Print stile & rail cutlist
      • Print panel cutlist
      • Write Sticking & Raised Panel Profiles on Cutlist
    • Attach three (3) copies of cutlist to Work Order
    • Put rough door parts on rip list.
