Replacement Glass
Please use a RED PEN to mark the Packing Slip from the glass vendor.
Please write down the number of pieces of glass that were defective on the line with the size description.
If the glass has a shape, please circle the glass shape on the drawing of the glass. This can be printed from the job reference folder. Look for the PDF file (Job #) Glass List.
Please use a marker to circle the glass defect and write a short description of the defect on the glass. (Scratch , Chip , Bubble , or some indication of the defect)
Please take a picture of the defect and the whole piece of glass. Please give the camera to the custlist team leader.
Please give the above information to the Cutlisting Team Leader.
If glass arrives damaged due to freight handling, please use the S.O.P. for Fright Damage for recording the damage and take pictures of the damaged for processing the freight claim. The glass vendor is not responsible for freight damage and will charge Goods for the replacement glass.
A copy of the freight damage, glass vendor packing slip, and pictures needs to be given to the Cutlisting Team Leader to process a request for replacement glass.
Cutlisting Team Leader:
Scan the packing slip (and glass drawing) into the job reference for the project. (Marked by the person inspecting or receiving the glass)
Save pictures of the defective or damaged glass to the job reference folder.
Create a new Glass Order for the glass that was defective or damaged. Include information as to the defect and request the vendor to replace the glass at no charge.
If freight damage – please inform the glass vendor Goods will be charged for the replacement glass. Goods will need to file a claim with the freight company for the cost of the replacement glass.
Send an E-mail to the glass vendor (copy accounting) with the replacement glass order and pictures of the defect. If shaped glass, the vendor will need a drawing of the glass and will need to know if it is a left or right piece of glass.
Send an e-mail to the salesperson on the project to inform them of the damaged glass and possibility of a delayed ship date on the order to our customer.
